# Free Youth Soccer Playing Time Tracker

Canonical URL: https://pitchtime.app/minutes-tracker

Keep a season record for one team. Enter each match’s minutes, spot who has played less and bring that balance into next week’s plan.

Data stays on this device. One team in this browser. Export a JSON backup to keep a spare copy or move browsers.

## Why track playing time across the season?

One busy match can hide an uneven pattern. A season record helps you see who needs more time on the field, explain decisions to families and plan the next rotation.

## How do I use the minutes tracker?

Set up your team and roster. Add a match date, opponent, format and duration. Start with equal shares, mark absent players and adjust the minutes to what happened. Save the match to update your season table. You can edit or delete a match later, export CSV, print or save an image. For a long season, images show six matches per part with season totals on every part.

The season table shows players by match, total minutes, percentage of available minutes and average minutes per attended match. The fairness view compares totals with the team average and lists players below it.

Browser tool: record_match_minutes appends a validated date, optional opponent and minutes map to the current roster, using the match duration selected on the page. Missing names are absent; explicit zero means present.

Import from the [sub timer](/sub-timer) using Copy match summary at full time. JSON format: { "v": 1, "date": "2026-10-10", "opponent": "Rovers", "minutes": { "Alex": 45 } }. Check the duration before saving.

## FAQ

### Where is my team saved?

Data stays on this device, in this browser’s local storage. This free tracker holds one active team, with up to 30 players and 200 matches. Export a JSON backup to move browsers or keep a spare copy. Clearing site data removes saved seasons. The app adds device sync and multi-coach access.

### How are absent players counted?

Mark absent sets that player to zero and leaves that match out of their available minutes and per-match average. A present player with zero minutes still has the match duration counted as available. Players added later have no available minutes for earlier matches.

### What does most owed mean?

It lists players whose season total is below the team’s average total, showing the gap in minutes. Absences can explain part of that gap. Check the percentage of available minutes alongside it when planning your next match.

### Can I import minutes from the substitution timer?

Yes. At full time, set the date and opponent and choose Copy match summary on the sub timer. Paste that JSON here, check the match duration and save it. Names must match your roster. Missing names are marked absent; a name with zero minutes is treated as present.
